[0:00] Welcome to the Our Generation Summit 2011. It is our prayer that you will be challenged to take part in world evangelism in obedience to the King's command. Let the God of my salvation be exalted.

[0:34] The Lord, let me bless you, and bless you, and bless you. Let the God of my salvation be exalted. All right, we need to do something.

[0:46] Ladies, how are you all doing tonight, this morning, tonight, yesterday? How's everybody doing? Girls, are you there? Are you awake? Did any of you forget to put your makeup on today? Brother Austin did?

[0:58] Oh, oh, sorry. That Austin. Anyway, ladies, when we say, I will call upon the Lord, you say... Your mic's not on.

[1:11] I will call upon the Lord. Are they not on? No? You can't hear them? Okay, you do it this way, you know, and you all know how to do that?

[1:24] Yes? No? Girls? Right here, you know? Okay, I'm going to give you a shot. You've got to do it. Come on, wake up. Help me out. A lot of you guys look miserable. I want to wake up, okay?

[1:34] So let's go. I will call upon the Lord. Who is worthy to be worthy.

[1:45] Who is worthy to be saved? So shall I be saved from my enemies. One more time. I will call upon the Lord. I will call upon the Lord.

[1:56] The Lord live it, and blessed be the rock, and let the God of my salvation be exalted. One more time.

[2:18] I will call upon the Lord. I will call upon the Lord. Who is worthy to be praised, and to be the rock, and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

[2:48] The Lord live it, and blessed be the rock, and let the God of my salvation be exalted.

[2:58] Very good. Give yourself a hand. There you go. Pat yourself on the back if you're not going to get injured. We've got a special person here this morning that is very special to our team, and she's a young lady who is celebrating her birthday, and her name is Cameron Howitt.

[3:18] Tony Howitt's daughter. Everybody give her a hand. And why don't we sing happy birthday to her real quick. Where are you at, Cameron? Are you embarrassed yet?

[3:30] Will she come up front? Cameron? Come on, Cameron. Bring a friend. It's okay. Just come on. Come on, Cameron. No? Yeah? Come on.

[3:41] Somebody just drag her over here, please. There we go. Everybody clap. It'll be less awkward. All right.

[3:53] So, let's sing happy birthday. You can stay right there. It's okay. Happy birthday to you. Happy birthday to you.

[4:07] Happy birthday, God bless you. Happy birthday to you. Wait a minute. We've got to do the Spanish one.

[4:17] Anybody here speak Spanish? Okay, and it starts out. Cumpleaños. Oh, come on. Help me out. Cumpleaños feliz. Ta-ta-ta.

[4:28] Te deseamos a ti. Ta-ta-ta. Cumpleaños felices. Te deseamos a ti. You don't have to speak Spanish to clap, people.

[4:38] You can help me with that. All right. Thank you, Cameron. Everybody give her a hand. All right. All right, let's sing Jesus Saves. Come and Jesus Saves, Jesus Saves.

[5:20] Sing above the battle's strife. Jesus Saves, Jesus Saves. By His death and endless life.

[5:32] Jesus Saves, Jesus Saves. Shout it rightly through the booth. Bring the heart for mercy grace. Sing and shine for the truth.

[5:47] Jesus Saves, Jesus Saves. Are the words different back here? Apparently. Okay, do you want to start over?

[5:59] Give the winds a mighty voice. You got it back there? All right, I'm going to do this number, okay? But I'll teach you all to sing with me. Give the winds a mighty voice.

[6:11] Jesus Saves, Jesus Saves. Let the nations now rejoice. Jesus Saves, Jesus Saves.

[6:22] Shouts salvation full and free. Highest hills and deepest feet. Dance our song of victory.

[6:34] Jesus Saves, Jesus Saves. Thank you very much. You can have a seat. Well, good morning to everyone. Did anybody get any sleep last night if you did say amen?

[6:46] Amen. If you didn't say amen? Amen. Yeah, I figured that. I hope you realize that we have a lot of things that we want to accomplish. And one of the things that we want to accomplish at the summit is we want you to know that there's a need for the gospel around the world.

[7:02] This letter came in yesterday from Aaron Bayshore. He said, today we, Jillian, Saeed, Marwan, and myself met with some who had asked for a Bible from our website.

[7:15] One girl is 16 and she had never seen a Bible before. My wife shared Christ with her and she is very excited. One couple, Omar and Miriam, are retired teachers and fed us lunch.

[7:27] He said, I knew that the Koran taught that Jesus was the spirit of God. So he must be God. Tell me how I can follow him. So Saeed and I spent about two hours teaching him how to be born again from Jeremiah 31 and John 3.

[7:41] They both understood today that Christ had to die and rise again. They are 60 and have never heard the message or seen the book. One young man named Belayad received a Bible from Saeed and Marwan.

[7:55] He will be reading it and meeting with them a second time. Three Berbers were traveling through and I met them and gave them a movie of Jesus. We'll meet with them again, Lord willing. None of these people had ever seen a Bible or ever heard the story or ever met a Christian.

[8:11] This is just one day of one team. There are 1.5 billion Muslims just like these people from Morocco to China. Ask them to care.

[8:22] He wants me to ask you to care. How many of you would pray that people like these in Morocco would hear the gospel message? Let's bow our heads for a word of prayer and ask God to work in Morocco and North Africa.

[8:32] Father, I thank you that you are at work around the world. I thank you that you are saving people, that you've put warriors on the field like Aaron and Saeed and Marwan and Cesar and Renzo and Tyler.

[8:47] I thank you, God, that you've got David Gates in Egypt and there are other soldiers of yours that I know. I don't even know their name, but I know that there are 7,000 that haven't bowed the knee and I praise you for them.

[8:58] And I ask you, dear God, that you would raise up more workers. I pray, God, that some in this very room today would be touched by this story and their heart would be broken and that they would care about going to North Africa, to the Muslims around the world, to Muslims that live in Indonesia, a country that is so desperately in need of the gospel, to Muslims that live in India, to Muslims that live in China, to Muslims that live in all the Arabic countries, to places where little is being done to see people saved, where there are very few missionaries and very few people preaching.

[9:34] I pray, God, that you would raise up people. I pray that you would touch hearts. I pray, God, that from this group you'd send 10 people to Northern Africa soon, that, God, we could just see a bunch of people raised up to go to Tunisia, to Algeria, to Egypt, to Morocco, to all the other countries there, Lord, that are in the, my give, to all the other countries that, Saudi Arabia, to Afghanistan, where not one Christian church is recognized or known of by the United States government.

[10:08] I pray, God, that you would send forth laborers. And I pray some of these in this room might be touched and might be willing to listen and hear your voice and hear the cry and see the need and want to tell people about you.

[10:21] Would there be anybody that would just say, you know, I'm praying and I will seriously pray that God would show me where in the world that I might go, not about, I'm not talking to you about North Africa, but just anywhere that you would just say, God, I'll pray where you'd have me go.

[10:40] Would you hold your hand up? Let me pray with you. I'll finish this prayer. All right. Father, would you deal with the hearts of these? They want to go where you want them to go. They want to do what you want them to do. And I pray, God, that you'd send some of them to these great needy places around the world.

[10:55] God, for China with a billion, 300 million people, for India with a billion, 100 million people, for Indonesia, the fourth largest country in the world and almost completely Muslim.

[11:08] I pray, God, that you would send people to those places. I pray, God, for all these billion plus Muslims spread across the world that need the gospel. I pray, God, that you would let this today be a changing day in history that people would be concerned about carrying the gospel.

[11:26] We give you praise and honor and glory for all that you do. In Jesus' name, amen. Well, thank you very much for being here, and I hope you will pray. And our God wants his name lifted up and magnified and glorified in those places.

[11:39] You ought to know that. He's a jealous God. He doesn't want any other God to get glory. And yet a false prophet named Muhammad gets great glory in many parts of the world when Jesus ought to be getting glory.

[11:52] And so we ought to want to take Jesus' name to those parts of the world. Isn't that the truth? Amen? I hope you will really pray about that. Well, our first preacher today is Kyle Shreve. He's a young man.

[12:03] We met him when he was just a young teenager at one of these events. He's finished his work at the training center, already working in a church, and headed out to do whatever God has for him.

[12:14] I hope you'll listen to that. All right. Well, today I am speaking on hallowed be thy name. And this is a phrase that's mentioned two different places in the New Testament.

[12:25] It's mentioned in Matthew chapter 6, and that's where we're going to be today is Matthew chapter 6. The other place it's mentioned is Luke 11.2. The disciples come and say, teach us to pray. He says, okay, here he says, you pray, hallowed be thy name.

[12:36] Thy kingdom come. He goes to do the Lord's prayer. But in Matthew chapter 6, in verse 9, he says, after this manner, therefore pray ye, our Father which art in heaven, hallowed be thy name.

[12:46] I want to talk to you guys today about how you can hallow his name and what hallowing his name is going to look like in your life. I thought about how do we hallow his name, what kind of person we need to be to hallow his name.

[12:58] But before Jesus gets to verse 9 and says, hallowed be thy name, he takes the first eight verses and shows you the kind of person you need to be to hallow his name. As we're going to look at Matthew 6, 1 through 8 today on how to hallow his name.

[13:12] And that word hallow means to set something apart, to set it as special, to set something as consecrated, to set it as sanctified, to set it above every other name in effect. To make it the highest, to make it the best, to make it the most special, to make it the king of all.

[13:28] And so how do we hallow his name? Jesus prays and says, Lord, we pray that you would do this with your name. And what does that look like in our life? I think it looks like us loving him. To sum it up in one word, I think it looks like love.

[13:40] I think hallowing his name, I think that when you are so in love with him, you just want to make him king, you just want to make him known, you just want to make him special, you just want to make him the best. It starts with loving him. So there's three things I want to give you today.

[13:53] The first thing we do to hallow his name is we need to cease from trying to please man, from trying to please other people. They need to stop being our focus. Look at verse 1. Jesus says, take heed that you do not your alms before men to be seen of them.

[14:06] He says, it's not wrong to do alms, but it is wrong to do alms to be seen of man. When your alms are focused on pleasing man, it's wrong. He says in verse 2, he says, therefore, when thou doest light alms, do not sound the trumpet before thee as the hypocrites do in the synagogue and the streets, that they may have the glory of man.

[14:21] And then if you go down to verse 5, it says that these people, it says they love to pray. These hypocrites, they love to pray standing in the streets and the corners of the synagogues and the corners of the streets that they may be seen of man.

[14:34] And these people are asphyxiated with the attention. They crave the attention. They want to be in the spotlight. They want their name to be famous. They want to be the one that's king. They want to be the ones in charge. And they want everyone to love them.

[14:46] Everything about them is I want to please man. I want man to see my alms. I want man to see my prayers. I want everyone to be focused on me. It doesn't matter about God. It doesn't matter about Jesus. All it matters is that people see me and that people see that I do alms and people see that I'm spiritual and people see that I do my life.

[15:01] And these people are totally focused on pleasing man. And there's people in my life that I love, people in my life that I care about, my pastor, brother Robert Canfield, Trent Cornwell, David Gardner, all these people in my life that I look up to these people and I admire these people and I want to please them.

[15:13] And it's not wrong to want to please people. But when you want to please those people more than you want to please God, when you want to please those people, when you want those people's attention more than you want God's attention, that's idolatry. That's when it's a problem.

[15:24] See, God created us to live our lives together so we could live our lives together for him, to glorify him and to magnify him. But a lot of times we take our lives and we use God and our lives to magnify us and the people around us.

[15:35] We get it completely backwards. Instead of living our life howling God's name, we live our life using God's name to howling our name. And it's completely the opposite of howling be thy name. It's howling be my name. So the first thing you need to do is you need to cease from trying to please man.

[15:47] Your focus needs to be on God. Number two, you need to concentrate on seeking the Father. Because the first person is totally focused on his attention. The second person over here, look at verse 3.

[15:58] This is when you do your alms. Christian, when you do your alms, let not thy left hand know what thy right hand doeth. That thine alms, the reason you do it is this right here, so that your alms will be done in secret.

[16:09] And that your Father shall reward thee openly. Look at verse 6. He says, but thou, when you pray, when you guys pray, go into a closet and shut the door. When thou prayest, go into a closet. And when thou hast shut the door, pray to thy Father, which is in secret.

[16:24] And if you look down at verses 7, he says, but when you pray, use not vain repetitions as the heathen do, for they think that they shall be heard for they are much speaking. He says, don't be like them. He says in verse 8, be not ye therefore like unto them, for your Father knoweth what things you have need of.

[16:37] And see, the first person is totally focused on it's all about me. It's all about people need to see me. But this other guy, he's going into a secret closet and he's shutting the door and he's getting alone with God and says, God, it's about you and I love you and all I care about is that I'm in love with you, God, and I don't care if anyone sees it, I just want to love you, God.

[16:52] And I'm not focused on man and I don't care what man thinks of me, I just want to love Jesus. And he's like the three Hebrew children. He says, if you want to put me in a fire furnace, I don't care, I love God. He's like, Paul, you want to put me in jail, I don't care, I'm going to sing and praise God.

[17:04] He's like David and says, I don't care if there's a giant, I'm just going to, I'm so in love with God that I don't care if I have to die to protect his name. I'm willing to do it. And that's the kind of person that we need to be before we can hallow his name.

[17:16] Because before we can respect his name, before we can honor his name, before we can lift his name up, before we can make his name worthy, before we can make it special. Because Philippians 2 tells us this, that at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow.

[17:27] At his name, every knee will bow. At his name, every tongue will confess. And before we can be that kind of person, before we can do that, before we can hallow his name, it needs to be in our heart that we love him. Because if you don't love him, you won't hallow him.

[17:39] You know, where your treasure goes, that's where your heart's going to go. And where your desire goes, where your love goes, that's what's going to be important to you. Last night when we went to dinner, we walked over to Ruby Tuesdays.

[17:51] Pastor Gardner said we're going to walk over to Ruby Tuesdays. And jokingly, someone said, hey, Pastor Gardner's going to walk somewhere? And I promise you, if you had seen Miss Betty's face when she found out, I mean, it was, Miss Betty's not a violent person.

[18:02] I'm not saying she's a violent person, but she was like fire eyes. She's like, someone said something bad about my husband. And it's not that she's a violent person. It's that she loves him. And she doesn't want people even jokingly saying bad things about him. Why? Because she loves him.

[18:12] She doesn't want anyone making fun of him. She wants him to be, people to think well of him. She wants people to think good of him. She wants people to honor him and to respect him.

[18:23] Because she loves him. And when we want to hallow God's name, it's a result of we love him. When we do hallow God's name, it's when we love him. And so when you become, when you come to the point and place in your life where you say, I don't care what people think.

[18:35] I'll do it in a closet where I'm by myself. I'll do it in secret where people don't get to see me. I'll do it when no one else knows. I'm just so sold out for Jesus. I'm just so in love with Jesus. That's when you're beginning to hallow his name.

[18:46] Because when you are, when you are in prison and you're praising him, when you're in a shipwreck and you're praising him, when you're abounding, when you're a base one, no matter what happens, you say, I love Jesus, whether or not my friends do or not, whether or not my people at my job do or not, whether people I go to school with.

[18:58] I love Jesus so much, I don't care what anyone else thinks, that he's the best and I want to live and I want to die so that Jesus Christ can be magnified. You're beginning to hallow his name. And number three, number three, after you've concentrated on seeking the Father, which is really nothing more than just falling in love with God and falling in love with Jesus, number three, consider the rewarder, consider the rewarder.

[19:21] And before you say that I'm trying to use a gain or you're trying to use material things to bribe you, can I tell you that the real reward, the real treasure, Colossians 129 says that all treasure is in the wisdom of knowledge of Jesus.

[19:33] Like the greatest treasure that we can have is just knowing who Jesus is. That he, that Paul said, I want to live my life so that I can know him. Philippians chapter 3 verse 10, I do everything so that I can know who Jesus is because I love him and he's that important to me.

[19:47] And I don't care what has to happen. I don't care what my family thinks. I don't care what my friends think. I just love Jesus. And that's the reward is that we get to know him. Because when you're in a closet and when you're in secret, no one sees you, all you have is God.

[20:00] And that's all we have, whether or not we're in a closet. We just don't realize it until then. And so look at verse number one. He says, You get the reward of man.

[20:15] And man's going to think you look good, but God's not going to give you anything. Because you have your glory. You've got that false glory that you created. But you've got nothing from God. And if you look over in verse 4, it says, Thy father which seeth in secret, he's going to reward you openly.

[20:27] Verse 6, he says, Pray to the father which is in secret, and thy father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly. And can I tell you from experience that any reward you can earn, any glory you can earn for yourself, anything that you can do for yourself is vanity.

[20:44] Solomon takes a whole book called Ecclesiastes and he says, It's not money. It's not fame. It's not women. It's not knowledge. Let me just tell you what I've learned after my whole life. I'm King Solomon. I've had it all. Let me tell you this. The sum of the whole matter is let's just fear God.

[20:55] Let's just love him. I had money. It didn't get it done. I had women. It didn't get it done. I had possessions. It didn't get it done. At the end of the day, I've lived it all. I've done it all. I've seen it all. It's all vanity. We might as well just love God because everything else, everything outside of God, everything outside of Jesus, anything you can do is nothing.

[21:12] And you think you've got, you think you have all these great things and everything's going well. And then one day you wake up and you say, Oh my goodness, where did my life go? I thought I had these friends who cared about me. I thought I had this job that was going to provide for me.

[21:24] And one day you wake up and you don't have that job and you don't have those friends and you don't have the athletic ability that you once had. You don't have the status. You don't have all the cool things that you once had. And you're left alone. And that's the time that you realize the real treasure is Jesus Christ.

[21:37] And if you're ever going to hallow his name, you need to come to that point where you say, I love Jesus. It's Philippians 3, 10. David said it so well. Yes. So you were created to know him. You were created to love him because he is the greatest treasure. And you need to come to the point and place in your life where you say, I love Jesus.

[21:50] I realize how valuable he is. Everything and more. That's when you're beginning to hallow his name. Last year, Trent, I'll finish with this. Last year, Trent, I think it was at the camp actually, Trent preached a message from John 1.

[22:02] Come and see. He says, is this Jesus? Is this really the guy in John 1 where he's beginning to gather his disciples? Come on. He can't come out of Nazareth. Come and see. And can I tell you that if you doubt today that his name is worth hallowing?

[22:15] Can I tell you today that if you doubt that Jesus Christ is, that knowing him is the greatest treasure? Can I tell you that if you doubt him, come and see. Come and see. Because he is the Alpha.

[22:25] He is the Omega. He is the beginning. He is the creator. He is God in a man's body. He is everything the Bible says he is. He is glorious. He is perfect. He is holy. And he's worth hallowing.

[22:36] He's worth respecting. He's worth honoring. He's worth making known. And that's not just hallowed be thy name in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee. That's not just hallowed be thy name in Alfred Dredge. Hallowed be thy name in Rabat.

[22:46] That's hallowed be thy name in South America. That's hallowed be thy name in China. And if his name is going to be hallowed, if his name is going to be respected, someone has to go. Someone has to send. And someone has to say, I will give my life to love Jesus and make sure that he is known and that he is respected and that his position of king is recognized the world over.

[23:04] What about you? Pastor? Young person? Lay person? Christian? Do you love him? Because see, hallowing his name, it's not this big thing that we can drum up and work I mean, it's love.

[23:19] It's not some false, I put on a suit, I put on a tie, I come to someone, I look good, I amen when I should, amen, I wave my hand when I amen, I cry when I should. It's, I love him. It's something in your heart. It's something that just naturally, you just, you love him and you want to see him known.

[23:30] And he asks us, do you love him? Because if you're ever going to hallow his name, if you're ever going to want to make his name special, you need to love him. It all starts with loving him. Because it says, this one thing I do that I may know him.

[23:44] I just want to know who he is. I just want to love him. I do everything so that I can love Jesus. What about you? I ask you today in closing, do you love him? Are you more focused on man?

[23:54] Or are you concentrating on the father? Do you love him today? Thank you. And that message ought to be taken to the entire world. Also this morning we received, or yesterday afternoon we received an email from David Gates.

[24:08] David is in Egypt. And though there are many Christians, quote unquote, in Egypt, they are Coptic Christians, which is the Greek Orthodox Catholic Church.

[24:19] They're not really truly born again people. They have a form of religion. They deny the power they have. They don't know the Lord Jesus Christ. And David's in language school. He's trying his best to give out Bibles and witness to people and get the gospel out.

[24:32] And there's a tremendous need in Egypt. If you keep up with the news, there's a lot of turmoil in Egypt. There's an upheaval. There's a, in fact, Islam would like to take complete control of that country.

[24:43] And there are so many places in Africa that are in desperate need of us getting the gospel to them while we can. Because Islam is taking a stronger and stronger hold politically and every other way they can to keep the gospel out.

[24:55] So would you pray about Egypt also that God might send you there. Our next speaker is Josh Ewing. He is a missionary to Chile. And I want you to know that Chile, like all the places in South America, they have had the gospel.

[25:11] And sometimes it's easy for you to believe that they are evangelized and that they no longer need the gospel. But I promise you there are entire cities that have no idea about the true gospel of Jesus Christ.

[25:24] There are places, there may be a handful of churches preaching the gospel. But when you're in mega cities of millions of people, literally no one knows the Lord Jesus Christ. So I hope that you'll pray for South America also.

[25:37] And you listen as Brother Josh preaches. Amen. It's good to be here this morning. Look with me, if you would, to Matthew chapter 6. Matthew chapter 6 and verse 10 says, Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

[25:51] Here Jesus Christ gives us a prayer for his people. That we as God's people, we need to be praying, Thy kingdom come. Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

[26:01] And we as God's people need to echo this, not just with our lips, with our lives and with our heart. When we sing, we know that we ought to be singing from our hearts, not just our lips. But when we lift up God's name, when we talk about the goodness of God, that doesn't just need to be coming out of our lips, but it needs to be coming from our heart.

[26:18] And we as God's people need to be focused on the goodness of God, but also the kingdom of God here is spoken about. And we as God's people need to be focused in on the kingdom of God. And what does that mean? How does that introduce into our lives?

[26:30] How is God's kingdom a part of our lives? I believe that we as God's people need to thank God for his salvation. But we need other people to understand what his salvation means as well. If you would, here in this verse, it says, Thy kingdom come, thy will be done in earth as it is in heaven.

[26:46] I'm glad that God has made a difference in my life. I'm glad of my salvation. But other people need to know of this salvation as well. Here it begins. I want you to understand about God's kingdom.

[26:58] I want you to understand about what God has done. When you talk about a king, when you talk about a kingdom, you always have to go back to the king. And the king is the one that makes the difference. It's not the land.

[27:09] It's not the boundaries of their fence. It's not the boundaries of their walls. If you want to talk about the kingdom of Christ, you have to talk about the king first. So as we understand the kingdom, we have to understand that first and foremost, it is talking about the king, the Lord Jesus Christ.

[27:23] It is his kingdom. Now what does it mean for the kingdom to come? What does it mean that when we pray to God and we say, God, I want your kingdom to come. Lord, I want your will to be done. What does that mean?

[27:34] Matthew 26, 42 says, he went away again the second time and prayed saying, Oh, my father, if this cup may not pass away from me, except I drink it, thy will be done.

[27:45] Luke 22, 42 says, saying, Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me. Nevertheless, not my will, but thine be done. If we want God's kingdom to be done in our life, you know what has to happen?

[27:57] We have to have his will, his desires, what he wants more important than ours. And that will come to pass in our life. And we will say, God, I have a lot of desires in my life.

[28:09] God, I have a lot of things that I long for, a lot of things that I want to have happen in my life. But everything that I've ever desired, Lord, I want to become second place right now. And Lord, I want your kingdom to come.

[28:21] Lord, I want your will to be done. Lord, I want what you want to become more important than what Joshua wants. And this is a battle that you will have the rest of your life. But I believe that if God's people will say, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, that's going to make a change in our heart and our lives.

[28:37] This is a good thermometer for your life. Ask yourself this morning, the things that I want this morning for the next year, the things that I will be passionately involved in, are those things that matter to Joshua or to the Lord Jesus Christ?

[28:51] I want you to ask yourself, do we say thy kingdom come with our lips, or does our life and our heart truly cry out? Oh, God, I have so many things on my plate.

[29:01] Lord, I have so many things that I can spend my time in in the next year. But God, I want them all to become second place to what you have for me. God, I don't know what you have for me, but I know that whatever you want is something that I cry for, is I long for.

[29:16] You talk about missionaries that leave family and friends because there's something else that is so important to them. Everything else becomes second place. That is what happens when you cry out, thy kingdom come.

[29:28] It's wanting God's will to be done more than your own will. Psalm 103, verses 20 and 21 says, Bless the Lord, ye his angels that excel in strength, that do his commandments, hearkening unto the voice of his word.

[29:42] Bless ye the Lord, all ye his hosts, ye ministers of his that do his pleasure. That do his pleasure. It's doing what pleases God more than pleases us. John 8, 29, Jesus says, I do always those things that please the Father.

[29:56] Jesus Christ himself says, Hey, when I'm here on earth, you know who I'm thinking about. You know who I'm concerned about. I'm concerned about pleasing him. And that is our life. It must be that we are pleasing him.

[30:09] 1 Corinthians 15, 21, For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead, whereas in Adam all die. Even so in Christ shall all be made alive, but every man in his own order, Christ the firstfruits.

[30:22] Afterward, they that are Christ at his coming. Then cometh the end, when he shall have delivered up the kingdom to God, even the Father, when he shall have put down all rule and all authority and power, for he must reign till he have put all enemies under his feet.

[30:37] The last enemy shall be destroyed is death. Listen here. You know what a kingdom is talking about? It's talking about the king's desires being taken forth everywhere.

[30:47] If you're in the kingdom, do you know whose desire matters? It's the king's. That's it. That's the kingdom. And do you want God's kingdom to be in your life? Do you really want God's kingdom to come in your life?

[30:59] Desire what he desires. You find that from the word of God. The more you stay in the word of God, the closer your desires become to what his desires are. His desires never change, okay?

[31:10] He does not change. So if we want to be close to him, then our desires must conform to him. And that happens by the word of God working in our lives. And then his power and his reigning will reign in our hearts and our lives.

[31:22] And then his desires, his will, his kingdom will come to pass in our lives. And we will be living out that kingdom come. So that's what we're talking about. You know what the world says? The world looks at us and they say, Thy kingdom come.

[31:34] No, no, no. My will be done. No, no, no. See, I, I, I, I, sure, I'll, I'll believe in God. I want God to come down. I want God to come down and help me. I have a lot of needs. I have a lot of desires.

[31:45] I need God to come down, not for his kingdom, but for my will to be done. So many times I believe we fall in this trap where God's kingdom becomes second and third place because there's so many things we need God's help to help us with.

[31:58] God, I haven't got this bill. Lord, I have this problem. I need a wife. I need a husband. I need your help. God, I really do. I want to be close to you so that you will come down and you will help me.

[32:09] But that's not what we're talking about here. We're talking about, God, thy kingdom come. Lord, I want you to come down. I want you to reside in my life. I want you to be a part of my life. Lord, I want you to take everything. And I want your will to become my will.

[32:21] Lord, I want your power to reign in my life. God, I want you to have a control. You know what being around king does? It changes everything you do. It changes everything. You know that David, the great mighty warrior who defeated a Goliath, did you know the great man who defeated a lion, the bear, he walked into the presence of a king.

[32:40] And you know what happened? He got scared. And because he was in the presence of a king, everything changed about him. He started drooling. Spit started coming down. Do you know why? Because he was afraid of the king. And being in the presence of the king changed everything about David.

[32:54] You know what happened? If we would see our God as the king of kings and lord of lords, everything about us would change. The way we take and open up the word of God with our family, the word of God would become preeminent in our life.

[33:07] It would become the most important book. And our daughter and our son would know it. Because our king is important to us. If you see the king of kings and lord of lords as he ought to be seen, it will change you.

[33:18] Do you know Esther? When she walked in there before the king, I believe she was a little bit scared when she first went in there because she knew there was a king. And if you walked into the presence of the king and he didn't want you there, he could kill you right on the spot.

[33:29] Because she recognized the presence of a king was there. Do we know that there's a king in our life? Does it change anything about us? I believe that if we would see God as our king, everything would change.

[33:44] You know, Abraham, when he got into the presence of the king, he said, oh my wife, no, no, this isn't my wife, this is my sister, pretty, isn't she? This ring, no, this isn't a wedding ring.

[33:54] Oh no, this is just a little charm I got at Walmart. No, no, no, that's... And everything changed about Abraham. Why? Because when you're in the presence of a king, everything changes to what he wants, to what pleases him, to what makes him happy.

[34:12] Oh, that we would just get close to God and what makes him happy would please us as well. What happens? Why do we rejoice when we hear about Aaron Bashoor getting to share the gospel of Jesus Christ with someone?

[34:25] It's not about Aaron. It's not about us. It's not about our church. It's about the king of kings and the Lord of lords. It's being spoken of. And what pleases him is what pleases us.

[34:38] When we hear about Aaron Bashoor, we're excited because he got to share the glorious gospel of Jesus Christ. Oh, my friend, can we talk about the kingdom? Can it really become important to us?

[34:50] Thy kingdom come, thy will be done. Acts 20, Paul is talking about his ministry. He says that, you know that when I came in Asia, you know what I did. You know my manner.

[35:01] He says, I kept back nothing that was profitable on you. And I showed you, and I've taught you publicly, testifying both to you, the Jews, and also the Greeks, repentance toward God and faith to our Lord Jesus Christ.

[35:13] And then he goes on. He says, I have gone preaching the kingdom of God. Behold, I know that ye all among whom I have gone preaching the kingdom of God shall see my face no more.

[35:23] See, he says here, as he preached about the repentance toward God and faith to our Lord Jesus Christ. He says, you know what I was preaching about? I was preaching about the kingdom of God. Do we really want the kingdom of God to come?

[35:34] Do we really want His will to be more important than our will? If we do, you know what we ought to do? We ought to be preaching about Jesus Christ. That's all we can do is to help you about Jesus Christ.

[35:47] And you know what's going to happen? His kingdom will become first. If we will simply lift up His desires, His kingdom, His will, make much of Him, then truly our King will become the King of our lives.

[36:01] And He will rule and He will reign. His power will be evident in our life. Hey, there's a King. It changed other people's lives. It changed them. Hey, we live in His presence every day.

[36:13] Do we allow our King to make a difference in our life? Or are we making much of His kingdom? Don't you think the whole world ought to know that He is our King and our God? Amen? This just came in.

[36:25] I'm not sure to who, but Alex handed it to me. Jillian Bayshore just put, I guess this is Facebook, pretty crazy. I was just mopping the floor, listening to the summit from my iPhone in my pocket.

[36:36] At the exact time Brother Gardner was praying for us here in North Africa, the call to prayer was going on and I was watching my neighbor through my back window doing her prayers. So there are people all around the world needing to hear the gospel and I hope that your heart will be touched to get the gospel to the world.

[36:53] Amen? Now, you'll hear people from everywhere and boy, these missionaries, they'll try to make it like their place is the only place on the planet that you ought to go. But my King said, go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.

[37:07] And one of the parts of the world that's in drastic need of the gospel is Europe. Certain parts of Europe never really even had the gospel. Spain, where Brother Scott Newton is going as a missionary, has really not had a move of God ever in history that we know of.

[37:25] The Spanish Bible that I use came from that country. There was a little bit of work there, but the truth is God hasn't done much and today almost nothing is happening. You should pray for Spain.

[37:36] You should pray for Europe. You should pray for places where the gospel was, but the gospel is gone. And I hope that you'll pray for that Brother Scott who's a missionary kid and he's on his way now to Spain with a gospel message.

[37:48] I hope you'll listen as he comes to preach. And I'm absolutely blown away and humbled by the chance to be able to stand on the platform in front of anybody and talk about the King.

[37:59] And especially after what we've already heard this morning and how he's been lifted up, how he's been exalted, how he's been magnified. And I'm sitting there in my seat and I'm thinking what's going through my mind is how do I get this across?

[38:11] How do I preach this? God help me. How do I lift you up? How do I preach about you? How do I make people see how incredible? My tongue is not, it's not good enough.

[38:22] My words are not good enough. It's just not there. But then the Lord just really hit me. He said, look, you can't do it, but I can. And His Word does that better than we could ever do.

[38:32] It lifts Him up and it exalts Him and it does a work in our hearts. So read with me Colossians chapter 1 and let's read about the King and who He is. Colossians chapter 1 verse 15.

[38:44] Talking about Jesus, talking about the King of Kings. Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature? For by Him were all things created that are in heaven and that are in earth visible and invisible, whether they be thrones or dominions or principalities or powers.

[39:01] All things were created by Him and for Him. He is before all things and by Him all things consist. And He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, that in all things, in all things, He might have the preeminence.

[39:18] And as we're looking at the King and His church and His mission, the first question is who is the King? And Psalm 24 gives us that question. Who is the King of glory? Who is the King of glory?

[39:29] And it says, the Lord of hosts. He is the King of glory. He is the King. And the question, who is the King? And how you answer that and how you answer that not only in your response and in your words, but in your life and in your heart reaction, what moves within you and what responds to that Word of God when it's preached and when He's exalted to that question.

[39:52] Who is the King? It's the most important thing about you this morning. It is the most important thing about you. Who is the King to you?

[40:02] Because it's not subjective. It's not the King. He's one thing to me and He's one thing to you. The question is, are we going to submit not just to His command, but to His identity and who He is and who He has revealed in the Scripture to be?

[40:15] And the most important thing that we can talk about is, who is this King? And Brother Ewing and Kyle did such a good job, just a good job of lifting Him up and talking about who He is.

[40:27] But I'll be honest with you, even doing these skits that we do, you know, I like to be goofy. I like putting on women's dresses and robes. No, I'm just kidding. But walking around with a Burger King hat on my head. But there's a part of me, seriously, that writing these things and performing these things, we're trying to get a point across.

[40:43] But there's a part of me that just recoils from even playing about the King. There's a part of me that just, we're trying to get a point across and we understand that, but man, He is so high and so exalted and so amazing.

[40:57] I do not want to give you the wrong impression of who He is. There's a part of me that just recoils from that. I hope you understand. He is the King. Revelation chapter 5, I love Revelation chapter 5 and so should you, not just because it's about Him, but it's about us.

[41:15] The whole bride of Christ, we're going to stand before Him, we're going to be in His presence, we're going to see Him, we're going to be in that crowd and lift our hands and say, you are worthy. You are worthy to receive everything you could possibly receive.

[41:29] And that is what this is all about is His worship. And in Revelation chapter 5 and here in Colossians chapter 1, it just emphasizes the fact that He is worthy not just because He's redeemed us, not just because of what He's done, not just because of His actions.

[41:46] What we have to understand this morning is before He ever does anything for you, before He does anything for the people in Barcelona, Spain, before He does anything for the Berbers in North Africa, before He does anything for anyone everywhere, He is worthy by Himself and who He is.

[42:03] He is the King of glory. He is, and it all hinges on that, on who He is. And then we get to the church. Who is the King? What is the church? Look at what it says here in Colossians chapter 1.

[42:17] It says that He is the head of the body, the church, who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead. What is the church? And we could be here a long time talking about that, but what is the church?

[42:29] The church is a part of Him. That's what it's saying here, that He is the head of the church. And if you've got a head and a body that are separate or different things, it's a freak. Okay? And that's not what's going on here.

[42:40] And John chapter 17 in Jesus' prayer where He talks about, He prays to the Father about us, about His church, about His people. And He says, make them one like we are one. Make them one in us as we in the Trinity are in perfect love and perfect harmony.

[42:53] Bring them into that. And that is who we are as His church and as His people. And we should rejoice about that this morning that we are in Him. He is our head.

[43:04] And Colossians says He's our head. He's our life. He's all of these different things. So what is the church? The church is not a separate thing that's apart from Christ. The church is, He is our head and we are part of Him.

[43:18] And then lastly, what is, not what is the mission but why is the mission? Just like you can't separate the church from Christ, you cannot separate the mission from the church because the mission is the church and the church is the mission.

[43:30] And what is the mission? We could talk about it. It's to preach and it's to disciple and it's all these things but ultimately, what is it? Here in Colossians chapter 1, here's what it is.

[43:40] Here's what the church is all about and here's what our mission is all about and here's what your life as a born-again Christian is all about. It says He's the beginning. He's the firstborn from the dead that in all things He might have the, what is that word?

[43:55] Preeminence. What is that word? That He might have the preeminence. That is the mission and that is what everything is about. Ephesians chapter 1 talks about our salvation and our sanctification and all of that and our mission as the church is that we should be to the praise of the glory of His grace.

[44:16] And we can get off so many times and Brother Gardner said it perfectly well last night that the people are not even the first priority. And compassion for the lost is not even first place.

[44:28] First place is this. We go, I go to Spain not because they're worthy of the gospel because they're not. They're absolutely not. If I would tell you some of the things about Barcelona you would blush.

[44:40] They have a monument that they are building in the center of the town square in that cathedral that we visited and it's going to be to the gays and lesbians repressed throughout history. They are worshiping and building monuments to sin.

[44:51] Those people don't deserve God. They don't deserve the gospel. So it's not about them. It's not me looking at them and saying those poor people I need to have compassion and go to them.

[45:02] It's about looking at my God and saying you are so exalted. You are the King of glory and you deserve their worship. And you deserve my worship. And you deserve whatever it is that you want.

[45:15] Whatever that you want. The King, His church and His mission the why of it is that He would be exalted. The why of it is that He would be lifted up. That He would be magnified because that's what it's all about.

[45:28] Kyle talked about the Lord's prayer and He says hallowed be thy name. Do you know that's a petition? Jesus is praying to the Father and He says God I want to I want to example and model to everyone else around me what prayer is and it's lining up with what you want and your heart's desire and your heart's desire above everything else is that your name be set apart and holy and magnified and exalted and God would you do that.

[45:55] Do that. Exalt it and hallow it and lift it up. That's what it's about. And if you're not passionate about His church if you're not passionate about His command if it's not a part of you it's because you're not passionate about His kingdom and Josh Ewing said that so well just now.

[46:13] And this morning we're not going to try to guilt you into serving Him because He doesn't do that. We're not going to try to make you an unwilling slave and force you into serving Him and going places and carrying His gospel because He doesn't do that.

[46:27] We're not going to try to make you overvalue the loss of the world so that you'll give your life and your time and your money because God doesn't do that. Their conversion and redemption is not even the main end. It's a means to the end.

[46:38] It's so that He will be exalted and He will be glorified and He will be magnified. So we're not going to do that today. We're not going to overvalue you so that you look like you're indispensable and God just needs you and has to have you in His kingdom.

[46:53] He has to have you with His message. That's not what He says but here's the message. Respond to the work of the Spirit in your life this morning as He draws you to worship the King.

[47:07] And we say as preachers I don't know what the Lord is doing in your heart right now. I don't know what He's... But I do know. I don't know the specifics. I don't know what individual things in your life have to go or what specific things He's calling you to do but I know this.

[47:21] His Spirit is at work in your heart and if you are a Christian this morning He is at work in your heart right now to drive you to your knees in worship of the King of Kings.

[47:32] And I want to ask you what are you doing with His command because it... it reflects that answer. Who is the King?

[47:43] What is... That is the question and what is your life answering? Who is the King? Amen. Take your Bible if you wouldn't open it to Jonah chapter 2 and if you'll recall last night we saw that Jonah has rebelled against the King's command.

[47:59] He doesn't want to do what God wants him to do and we see that missionaries or people that God's dealing with may not have a desire to do what God would have them to do. He rebelled against God and in chapter 2 he is going to submit to God.

[48:13] He's not going to submit to God until he is in the belly of hell he says. He is going to be in the belly of that whale. He's going to be in the belly of a fish down in the bottom of the ocean.

[48:24] Finally realize I really need to get right with God. Look if you would in Jonah chapter 2 we can't read the whole chapter but maybe some things that you would circle in that chapter if you would. In chapter 2 verse 1 then Jonah prayed.

[48:38] Amazingly Jonah doesn't pray until he is in big trouble. Amazingly Jonah doesn't pray until he is in big trouble. He must have been a Baptist.

[48:49] Say amen. He must have been one of us. Everything is going our way. Our life is happy. Everything is great. God has not rocked my world any time lately. All of a sudden God does give him a call and now he is in the belly of a whale and he cries out to God.

[49:03] Verse 2 he said I cried by reason of mine affliction. I cried because I got in trouble. I tried because I got in trouble and most of us have been in trouble and we understand what it's like when we get out of God's will and we're not doing what God wants and it begins to affect our life and affect all about us and out of the belly of hell he cried and God heard his voice.

[49:27] In chapter 2 in verse 4 he said then said I am cast out of thy sight. Would you put a circle around that? He said I'm cast out of your sight. You know he started out running in chapter 1 he said I'm going to get out of the presence of God and now that he's in the belly of the fish on the bottom of the ocean he says I'm out of God's sight but the truth is the reason he's in the fish is he's not out of God's sight.

[49:49] Amen. God was already at work in his life and God was doing something but it causes him to look again toward the holy temple in chapter 2 in verse 4. then if you go down to verse 7 he said when my soul fainted when my soul fainted when everything was over and I realized I couldn't go any further when I was broken and I was at the bottom of the barrel I remembered the Lord and in verse 9 he says I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving I will pay that I have vowed I just want to take about 11 minutes of your time now I want you to consider where you are in this progression maybe God's dealing with you about what he'd have you do with your life I want you to know that God has a will for every one of our lives not all of us will go to the mission field some of us like myself and these other pastors we'll pastor a church here in America and we will direct people and train people and teach people and we'll send people but we ought to do that only because we know that's what the king wants us to do and some of us will be lay people in a church and we will pray and give and teach and go and be leaders and models and examples of everything that we believe and because we believe that's what the king wants us to do and some of us will go as mischievous because we believe that's what the king wants us to do but I want you to know that when the king has a plan for your life he's going to work in your life until you get in line with his plan the day you got saved the day you got saved you gave up all rights to your life the day you got saved you gave up all rights to your life and in chapter 2 and verse 3

[51:24] Jonah recognizes that it is God that is at work in his life it's not circumstances in verse 3 he said for thou hast cast me into the deep he didn't say the sailors cast him into the deep he didn't say the storm caused him to be cast in the deep he said God I know who threw me in the ocean just now I know who prepared a fish for me I know who got me swallowed by a fish I'm not blaming sailors I'm not blaming a storm I'm not blaming nature I'm not blaming circumstances I know you are at work in my life if you're born again he's working in you if you're born again he's working in you and by the way if he's not working in you you're not born again just to be blunt honest with you if he's not working in you you're not born again and Mr. Jonah doesn't want to do God's will God says but I will accomplish my purpose I wish you'd look at Philippians chapter 1 and verse 6 it is a tremendous verse as a promise to us but as a promise it's also a responsibility it also tells me something's going to happen you see he that began a good work in me he will finish it he that began a good work in me will finish it he did not save me from hell so I could enjoy the good life now he did not save me from hell so I could live the life

[52:38] I want to live he saved me from hell so I could worship him because he is the God of all glory and I and I to worship him so he started a work and he will finish it by the way in Romans chapter 8 verses 28 and 29 he has predestined you to be conformed to the image of his son when you got saved you know southern the south United States of America has more false Christianity than you can imagine we all got saved we got our name on a church roll we got baptized we don't know Jesus we are cultural Christians we're not Christians we're not saved we don't really believe Jesus is in charge we don't really believe he's our savior we don't really believe he's our lord we're kind of we're kind of faking it but did you know that if you're saved he's at work in you he if you're you know if you if you were to join the military back when my dad joined the military and you'd have gone in the military you might have come in looking like a certain way you might have come in with certain attitudes but they knew when you got in there you were predestined to come out looking like they wanted you to you'd either come out like they want you to or they'd kill you on the way to it say amen and my daddy said he saw guys throwing up he saw them getting beat up he saw all kinds of stuff people wouldn't bathe and they got the slop beat out of them by the other soldiers

[53:52] I mean there's a lot of you know what when you joined the army you were predestined let me give you a hint when you got saved you were predestined and this idea that you got saved you keep on doing all the sin and the wicked stuff you had before and it's not a big deal to you I'll just give you a hint you ain't saved you ain't in if you was in you'd know God's gonna work in you and take you through that so the first thing the first thing I want you to realize is Jonah finally catches on God's working in my life the second thing Jonah catches on to is chastisement is getting the job done chastisement is getting the job done look if you would in chapter 2 verse 1 then Jonah prayed then Jonah prayed look down if you would in chapter 2 verse 2 I cried by reason of mine affliction I don't know if you know this but I'm gonna give you a couple of verses did you know God likes to use affliction to get us to pray how many of you really got some things straight in your life really got some things right with God really drew closer to God when there were some major issues going on in your life you were in affliction and problems that God did so hold your hand does anybody here like that you say that's not that's not unusual that's not unusual listen to what the Bible says if you would in Psalm chapter 119 verse 67

[54:59] David said before I was afflicted I went astray that in Tennessee hillbilly where I grew up that means this I went astray then I got afflicted now I'm back on the straight path I did wrong he whooped me and I came back Psalm 119 verse 71 it is good for me that I've been afflicted because I learned your statues that way when you get your when you get your fanny spanked you come back and listen a little bit better and so he said I was afflicted in Psalm 119 75 I know oh Lord that thy judgments are right and thou and faithfulness has afflicted me David said I know God you afflicted me there's a certain part of us oh we don't want to guilt you we don't want to manipulate you we don't want to make you there but let me just explain to you we don't want to but he does he's going to spank your rear you say I don't think so he did with Jonah why don't you call Jonah and say Jonah was you having a six flags ride in a whale he said out of the belly of hell cried I look if you would in chapter 2 in verse 4 then said I

[56:02] I am cast out of thy sight I will look again toward thy holy temple the abandoner feels abandoned the one who abandoned God feels abandoned by God he feels God is not even looking in his direction but God never abandoned him he just felt alone and when we feel alone and reach the end of our rope and we finally cry out to God that'll be a great day chapter 2 verse 7 my soul fainted and I remembered the Lord we'll not pray until we have nowhere else to go we'll not pray until we have nowhere else to go the end of the rope the bottom of the barrel wits end those are good places to be because that's where God finds us and gets us right maybe you even came here this week and the honest truth is you're so tired of God's dealing with your heart and you're so tired of the fight and so tired of you fake it and you act like everything's okay but you're at a point where you're like I don't know what to do Psalm 27 13 I had fainted unless I had believed to see the goodness of the Lord and the land of the living wait on the Lord be of good courage and he shall strengthen thine heart wait I say on the Lord then old Jonah cries out to God and he repents and he gets things right with God and I don't have time to talk to you to you about that and then I want you to go to verse 9 but he makes some promises to God it is amazing when you're in the middle of real trouble you start crying out to God in prayer you say oh God I need you and when you're crying out you're saying God if you'll stop the whipping I will how many of you have ever been in a problem everything that's falling apart in your life you said oh God if you will just stop this fix this I will has anybody ever done that in this room before yeah that's what Jonah did verse 9 he said I will sacrifice unto thee with the voice of thanksgiving I will pay that I have vowed he'll be thankful for whatever

[58:07] God wants him to do he says I'll be thankful he evidently made some promises it's God's choice not Jonah's that the people hear it's God's choice not Jonah's that the people hear I'd like to say before I'm going to finish this up here in just a second but I'd like to say to you as much as everybody would like to paint romantic picture of the mission field where God might call you and as much as it might be good just to be blunt honest it's often not all that nice and to be blunt off honest it's often not that enjoyable and Betty and I spent our first four years Betty was outside in the living room crying and I would go in the bathroom and I would say God in heaven I do not know if I can take another day of this I am ready to quit I am ready to die I don't want to be here I'm going to pack my family up I'm leaving this place and please do a work in my life and then I would come out and Betty and say are you afraid and I'd say no she said do you ever think about quitting I said no me and God do it but I lied to her she didn't know it for years I'm just saying to you that serving God I don't think going to New it and then I don't think he wanted to go to

[59:19] Nineveh before the fish ride and I'll be honest with you I'm not sure he wanted to go to Nineveh after the fish ride but before the fish ride he said I don't want to go and I ain't going and after the fish ride he said I don't want to go but you're king and I will go and to be honest with you going down the road and witnessing to your neighbor you don't even want to do that it's amazing how we are excited about witnessing to somebody well if we could just go witness to those Muslims across the ocean and we could go over there but we can't witness to the gringo or the redneck that lives right next door to us Jonah's not in charge the fish is not in charge God is let me give you a few lessons and I quit God will hear your prayer from anywhere but why would you want to go there he'll hear your prayer from anywhere but why would you want to go there won't you pray today won't you pray today recognize that God is at work in your life now know that God will continue working in you until you fulfill his purposes for your life you are not your own you are not your own that is the biggest lesson I'll we all need to learn we were bought with a price and we're not our own I will just say a couple things because I happen to know people so just let me say this God wants you to do something you don't want to do it God sends you in a the belly of a whale you wake up and say I do want to do it and we'll continue on with chapter 3 and chapter 4 but if you're a husband in this room and you feel like God's leading and directing you let me explain something to you your first responsibility is be a big enough man of God to leave your home and if you can't share the heart of Jesus Christ with your wife and your kids you can't share the heart of

[61:00] Jesus Christ with people on a foreign field on a foreign field and lady if you can't submit to your husband you can't submit to the Lord Jesus because you were told to submit to to you were told to submit to your husband like you do the Lord Jesus you'll read Ephesians chapter 5 I'll take an amen on that one might not be popular might not be easy but here's the whole deal God has a plan for our lives and here's where it starts it starts right where I'm living God's plan is not as geographical as we'd like to think it is God's plan is I'm king and you're peon that's my plan when you figure out who that I'm the boss and you just obey we'll work out the rest of the details that's fine print that's small stuff Jonah said I don't care what you want I will rebel against you God says fine you don't need to do what I want you to do they will throw you overseas the fish will catch you you'll go to the bottom of that ocean you'll have seaweed all wrapped around your head and you'll be crying out in the belly of hell and he said in about that time you're going to say God I'd like to get out of here if you don't mind I think none of us a lot nicer place in the belly of a whale and you'll come back up but here's where it all starts in my life doing what my God wants me to do today surrender your all to him today would you bow your heads with me father I love you and I thank you for the chance to serve you I pray to your God that you would cause your people this morning to trust you to know that you would never ask of them what wouldn't be beautiful for them even if it might be hard at the beginning I pray God that your people would surrender and seek you and honor you and magnify you I pray that your your kingdom your kingship would be recognized I pray that in our hearts we would buy in all sincerity say you are king I worship you do a work and I will praise you and magnify you with every head bowed and every eye closed I'm not asking you if you want to go to the mission field fact is you can be on the mission field and not be respecting the king you can be on the mission field and be not not obeying

[63:11] God not submitting to your husband not loving your wife not leading people to Christ not having the right spirit not having the right attitude you could be letting fear dominate your life I mean there's a whole it doesn't matter where you are is he king is he king right now are you respecting him and honoring him as king do you need a ride in a in a fish's belly to help you figure out he is king who in this who in this room would say today God is dealing with my heart I need to surrender I need to get some things right God has dealt with me and I want to I want to acknowledge him as king of my life I want to hallow his name I want to honor him I want his kingdom to come I want God to do great things in my life would you just find a place and pray real quick say man I surrender all I want the king of kings to rule in my heart and rule in my life is there anybody else do what God wants you to do I hope that while you're here you let God move in your life this is not for when you get overseas this is not for when you get married this is not for five years from now this is for today I will honor the king I will honor Jesus I will love him and I will serve him there be anybody else father in heaven you see people praying at the front and you see them in their seats and I pray that your name would be magnified and glorified and I pray you continue to work and I'll give you all glory this event is organized by
