Choose and preview a public theme

Preview each sermon-list layout with your church's own content before changing what listeners see.

Preview a theme

  1. Go to Settings > Theme, or open theme settings directly.
  2. Review the layout cards and their descriptions.
  3. Select Preview on a layout. A new tab opens with your church's visible sermons in that layout.
  4. Look for the amber Theme preview banner. It confirms that the preview is visible only to you and is not live for visitors.
  5. Use Back to theme settings to compare another layout.

A preview does not change the saved theme. It uses your own sermon titles, images, preachers, series, and dates, so missing artwork is easy to spot.

Choose a layout

The available layouts are:

LayoutBest suited to
ModernA balanced image-and-details layout. Each sermon shows its display image and full metadata.
Modern - GalleryA simple image grid where artwork and sermon titles lead.
Modern - TextThe detail of Modern without sermon images.
Modern - CompactA straightforward, information-dense table.
MagazineA featured latest sermon followed by a grid of smaller image cards.
TimelineA date-led archive arranged along a vertical timeline.
PodcastA dense podcast-app-style list with small thumbnails.
SplitLarge alternating image and text panels.
MinimalA title, date, and one line of metadata with no images.
BentoAn image-led grid of varied portrait and landscape cards with concise metadata.

If your sermons have strong images

Start by previewing Modern - Gallery, Magazine, Split, or Bento. Modern and Podcast also use images but leave more room for metadata.

Image-led layouts use the sermon's image, then its series image, then the church default image. Check sermon image priority before concluding that artwork is missing.

If images are inconsistent or unavailable

Start with Modern - Text, Modern - Compact, Timeline, or Minimal. These keep the archive useful without depending on artwork.

Save the theme

  1. Return to Settings > Theme.
  2. Select the layout card itself. The selected card has a green outline.
  3. Select Save Settings.
  4. Open Public View and reload the sermon list to confirm the change.

Every theme adapts to mobile, tablet, and desktop screens, and follows each visitor's light or dark colour preference.

Use your brand colour

Go to Settings > General and enter a valid three- or six-character hexadecimal value in Theme colour, without the #. Save the settings.

The colour is used for accents and player controls across the public site rather than replacing every colour in a theme. Preview the result in both light and dark mode and check that text is still easy to read.
