Quick-create a preacher or series
Create a missing item without leaving an unfinished sermon.
Search before creating
- Go to New Sermon, or open a sermon under Sermons.
- Under Sermon Details, start typing in Series or Preacher.
- Review the matching results before typing a new full name.
- Select an existing result when it is the same person or series.
Recently used choices also appear under Quick Select when the search field is empty.
Create and select a new name
If there is no match:
- Type the complete name exactly as it should appear publicly.
- Select Create New Preacher: [name] or Create New Series: [name].
- Wait for the selected name to appear as a blue chip in the field.
- Finish the sermon and select Save Changes.
The new preacher or series is created straight away and selected on the sermon form. The link to this sermon is saved when you save the sermon.
A sermon can have multiple preachers, so you can search or quick-create another name after the first selection. A sermon can belong to only one series.
Complete the new profile later
Quick-create adds only the name. It does not ask for the other profile settings.
After saving the sermon:
- Go to Preachers, open the new preacher, then add a bio, priority, square image, visibility, and feed settings. See create and manage a preacher.
- Go to Series, open the new series, then add its description, widescreen image, attachments, visibility, feed, and podcast artwork. See create and manage a series.
The sermon editor does not offer those settings, so use the full edit pages for them.
