Explore sermons by Bible chapter
See which parts of the Bible a church has preached and find sermons for a particular chapter.
Explore is part of the public website, so listeners do not need an account. An Admin can choose whether its link appears in the public navigation.
Understand the map
Open the church's public website and select Explore in the navigation.
The summary at the top gives an overview of the archive. Below it, every row represents a book of the Bible. Its squares run from the first chapter to the last, from left to right.
- A green square means that at least one sermon has a saved passage covering that chapter.
- A darker square means that more sermons cover the chapter.
- An uncoloured square has no sermons to select.
Select What is this? above the map to see the same key while using Explore.
Find sermons for a chapter
- Find the Bible book in the map.
- Select a green square in its row.
- Read the chapter heading and sermon list beside the map.
- Select a sermon title to open its public page in a new tab.
The list shows the title and available details such as preacher, series, passage, date, and time. Select another green square to replace the list with sermons for that chapter.
Make sermons appear in Explore
Explore uses the passages saved against each sermon. A sermon without a saved passage does not appear on the map.
Admins and Managers can add or correct a Bible passage in the sermon editor. The sermon must also be published and publicly visible before a listener can open it from Explore.
Remove Explore from the public navigation
Explore appears in the public navigation by default. Only an Admin can remove it.
- Go to Settings > Tweaks, or open the tweaks settings directly.
- Turn off Explore & visualisation tool.
- Select Save Settings.
- Open Public View and reload the page to confirm that Explore no longer appears in the navigation.
Turning the setting on restores the Explore link in the public navigation. Changing this setting does not remove passages from sermons.
